Certified General Real Estate Appraiser (NC)


The process of earing the license of Certified General Real Estate Appraiser is dictated by the Appraisal Qualifications Board which is a part of the Appraisal Foundation. The requirements set forth by the Appraisal Qualifications Board is enforced by the state the appraiser has a license in. The current requirements for earing the Certified General Real Estate Appraisal License are as follows:

  • Be cleared of any character issues by the State Appraisal Board
  • Hold a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university
  • Work as trainee appraiser with a supervisor for a minimum of 2 ½ years
  • Perform a minimum 3,000 hours of appraisals which is reviewed by the Appraisal Board
  • Attend 300 hours of course room work, of which 270 hours are certain required courses and 30 hours are electives
  • Pass an eight-hour State Appraisal Exam
